Meet the owner

Founded in March 2023, Chloris Lawn Care sprouted from an enjoyment of the outdoors and maintaining my own lawn. I found something special in the roar of the mower engine starting up in the morning, the smell of freshly cut grass, the appearance of a freshly cut lawn, and knowing I helped out my parents by saving them time and making their day a little easier. It’s simple, satisfying, and honest work that I’ve loved from the start. After being approached by a neighbor and doing their lawn, I realized that I could turn this enjoyment into a real business, igniting the entrepreneur in me. Since then, I have slowly but surely begun to build a business around this hobby, one customer at a time.

My name is Nicholas Noxon, Owner & Operator of Chloris. I’m currently pursuing an Associate of science in General Studies at Tidewater Community College, with plans to transfer to Old Dominion University to obtain a bachelor's in Entrepreneurship and minor in environmental science. This small business helps me pay for college, stay connected to my community, and do work I genuinely enjoy (Minus the heat 😝)

While most lawn services simply use the owner’s name, I decided to do something different. I wanted a name that reflected not just who I am, but why I do this work. I chose Chloris, the name of the Greek goddess of greenery, spring, and renewal. It’s a name that speaks to fresh starts, growth, and the natural beauty of a well-kept yard. The name Chloris also represents something bigger: a sustainable future. My long term goal is to provide zero emissions lawn care. With today's evolving technology, lawn care can be clean, quiet, and environmentally responsible. Even with limited resources, I’ve already begun incorporating electric tools, and season after season, as the business grows, I’ll continue moving toward 100% electric services. Giving those I serve peace of mind that their lawn is being cared for with respect for both their space and the planet.

Chloris is more than just a business, it’s how I support my education, serve my neighbors, build sustainability, and build connections. Whether you want to support a student-owned business with heart and purpose or simply need dependable, quality lawn care, you’re in the right place.
